Challenge: Performing expert Base Operations Support in a Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF) with responsibility for antiterrorism and force protection at NGA. Each employee must have a Top Secret clearance.
Clients: NGA West - St. Louis and Arnold, Missouri
This BOS contract provides facilities operations and maintenance (O&M), infrastructure and equipment O&M, work request management, equipment pool management, construction management, transportation, supply storage operations, official mail distribution, supply support activity, furniture, and work module management. In support of the several thousand government personnel at NGA, Akima is responsible for safety programs, antiterrorism and force protection, hazardous material (HAZMAT), environmental programs, and certification for Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) operations. Service call work at NGA West supports 28 buildings and 61 improvements, utility systems, and structures for a total of 89 facilities. Building floor space covers approximately 1,821,226 square feet. Akima also provides O&M at NGA for government furnished equipment, including chillers, boilers, air ventilation equipment, heat pumps, panels, valves, and elevators.
