Actiance partners with Affigent to expand federal market presence
Key partnership brings Social Media and Unified Communications controls and expertise to a federal audience
June 3, 2011
BELMONT, Calif - June 1, 2011 - Actiance, enablers of the safe and compliant use of unified communications, collaboration and Web 2.0, today announced a partnership with Affigent, LLC, a technology solutions provider specializing in global government deployments. Actiance will be the primary compliance solution for unified communications and social networks for Affigent, playing a key role in bridging existing solutions in the AffigentTM portfolio of products.
Key to this partnership is the ability for Actiance and Affigent to meet strict engagement criteria in the federal space, leveraging Affigent's NASA SEWP IV status to reach a broader federal audience. As collaboration and communications tools become more prolific in the federal market, the need for highly compliant and flexible cyber-security, management and monitoring solutions is critical. Additionally, as the adoption of Web 2.0 tools and social networks expands within the federal market, organizations need to be proactively identifying technology solutions that can help address the full scope of platforms.
Actiance's full portfolio, which includes Vantage, the de facto platform for security, policy controls and compliance features for real-time and UC, will be available to Affigent customers. Vantage supports a variety of platforms, including Microsoft Lync Server, Office Communications Server, IBM Sametime, Cisco Unified Presence, Jabber, public instant messaging platforms including Skype and Web conferencing tools. For customers, this flexibility ensures a highly scalable, secure, managed solution is available for any of the leading platforms. Additionally, with Socialite, Actiance is able to provide controls for social media platforms, including Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter.
"We pride ourselves on bringing the best value solutions to the federal market and with Actiance, we're now able to offer the industry's most comprehensive solution for the most highly regulated market," said Kimberly Boarts, vice president of enterprise software solutions at Affigent. "With the Actiance technology, we are able to work with government entities to procure cutting edge collaboration and communication technology that can scale to the growing market, yet provide the security necessary to meet increasing standards."
"The government and other federal organizations are under scrutiny to be more and more transparent with the partners they work with and the public, where appropriate," said Howard Klayman, Federal Program manager at Actiance. "This partnership will help federal organizations reach their goals in a much more efficient way and Actiance can help them stay ahead of the curve in deployment."
