NANA Shareholder Development hosts IT open house

A good job at NANA in an industry that continues to grow, that is what NANA Development Corporation (NDC) hopes a group of young NANA shareholders will want at the end of an open house today. NDC Information Technology and Shareholder Development are hosting an Information Technology (IT) Open House January 17 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the NDC building on Tudor Road.

NANA shareholders currently attending high school in the Anchorage bowl are invited to spend half a day getting to know what an IT job in a global corporation looks like. NDC Shareholder Development Manager Kristina Patrick says this is about opening young eyes to a world of opportunity. “At NANA Development Corporation we work to provide training and new prospects for our shareholders. This open house is a way to get students excited about a career working in IT while working for a company that is a part of their heritage.”

NANA’s IT staff will be walking students through the variety of employment options in information technology at NANA. NDC Chief Information Officer Ngoni Murandu says this is a win-win situation.

“There are so many different career fields inside NANA IT and the opportunities are only expanding.  The chance to meet some young shareholders and show them what we do is exciting.  We want people who attend this open house to walk away thinking – “I want to work with NANA IT.”

NANA Development Corporation is the business arm of NANA Regional Corporation Inc., one of Alaska’s 13 Regional Native Corporations.
