Alaska Business Monthly honors Top 49 Alaskan-owned, Alaskan-operated companies
Four Alaska Native Corporations grossed more than $1 billion each in 2010

ANCHORAGE, Alaska - Alaska Business Monthly, in conjunction with the Alaska State Chamber of Commerce, announced the Top 49 Alaskan-owned and -operated companies in the state, based on 2010 gross revenues, at a luncheon at the Dena'ina Civic and Convention Center in Anchorage.
Topping the charts for the 17th year was Arctic Slope Regional Corp. with 2010 gross revenues of more than $2.3 billion. Also topping the billion-dollar mark were NANA Regional Corp. Inc. ($1.6 billion), Bristol Bay Native Corp. ($1.4 billion) and Chenega Corp. ($1.1 billion).
Bethel Native Corp. made the list this year for the first time ever, coming in at No. 36 with $96.75 million.
Alaska Business Monthly's Top 49ers brought in combined gross revenues of more than $15.24 billion in 2010, and provided more than 69,000 jobs worldwide, employing more than 25,000 people in Alaska.
Alaska Native corporations reported $11.3 billion in 2010 gross revenues, 74 percent of all gross revenues reported. These companies also provided more than 58,000 jobs worldwide, more than 16,000 in Alaska, about 84 percent of all jobs on the listing, and 64 percent of those employed in Alaska. Eight of the top 10 Top 49ers are Alaska Native corporations, with Lynden, a multi-model transportation and logistics company and Alaska USA Federal Credit Union placing seventh and 10th, respectively.
Of the 49 companies represented, 33 reported increased revenues in 2010. "These companies are Superheroes of Success," said Jim Martin, Alaska Business Monthly president. "They show strength and power and we should follow their example."
