Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)

Our Goal: Zero Harm, Zero Injuries, Whole Families.

Our Journey to Safety Excellence

Our Journey to Safety Excellence™ is a carefully-crafted partnership between employees, management, partners, and our clients. As a member of the Campbell Institute, National Safety Council’s (NSC) Center of Excellence, we have adopted the NSC Journey to Safety Excellence™ as the cornerstone of our HSE program.

Leadership and Engagement

NANA has HSE as a core team member on the Senior Management Team of the organization – responsible for the interface of HSE in all our operations. The president of NANA oversees employee engagement through corporate wide safety perception surveys, employee safety committees, training opportunities, and enforcement of policies and procedures. All NANA companies are part of our Enterprise HSE Council.

Risk Reduction

Through partnerships with our insurance carriers, employee training, and proven approaches to risk analysis and reduction, NANA engages in active risk reduction on all its programs and projects. Moving risk reduction from an authority-based model to a responsibility-based model is a major program initiative at NANA.

Performance Measurement

NANA measures performance success through measurement of leading indicators: audits, inspections, observations, training, and our employees, partners, and clients’ perception of our quality and safety performance. We utilize lagging indicators as a benchmark to see if our successes are proving effective. Through trend analysis, we adjust the training and observations, audits and inspections to move us to zero incidents.
