Department of Interior's Minerals Management Services (MMS)

Enhanced network security continues to represent a pressing need for both commercial and public Truestone Communications runs and maintains the nation-wide IT infrastructure for the Department of Interior’s Minerals Management Service (MMS).  We do much more than keep systems running 24x7x365 for the agency’s 3,000 users in five regional offices. Our IT experts are alert for opportunities to improve processes and deploy solutions that make the enterprise more efficient, reliable and easy to manage. For example, when Hurricane Katrina struck New Orleans in August 2005, we worked around the clock to restore services within 48 hours. More importantly, the Truestone Communications team led the way to identify lessons learned and develop a comprehensive disaster recovery plan. When Hurricane Gustav struck, the new DR/COOP worked—no disruption of service. Truestone Communications now represents MMS in annual Disaster Recovery tests and has developed a DR/COOP that now serves as a baseline for the Department of Interior.
