The company provides  construction and program management services for projects ranging from new office and classroom facilities to hospital additions and renovations. ACS also performs modular construction work, primarily at U.S. Army installations in support of troop realignment and for disaster relief efforts. ACS provides capital improvements and site system modifications in highly secure and historic government buildings throughout the Washington, D.C. area.

HVAC System Upgrades

Working for U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Akima manages the design and installation of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) system upgrades in various buildings throughout our nation’s capital. The work involves demolition and disposal of existing equipment and installation of new equipment that includes special filtration systems. Our innovative design has major advantages over the conventional approach, allowing installation in very constrained spaces, while meeting extremely rigorous leakage and filtration criteria.

Darnall Army Medical Center

Akima’s 50,000-square-foot expansion project at Darnall Army Medical Center is a two-story addition to the labor and delivery wing of the hospital serving 54,000 soldiers and their families stationed at Fort Hood, TX. The first floor houses the Women’s Health Clinic currently located elsewhere in the hospital. The second floor of the facility consists of labor and delivery suites.
